Easy Spicy Vegan Tofu Burger Recipe

Description

Make deliciously spicy and juicy vegan tofu burgers packed with fresh herbs and zingy flavors. Perfectly crispy and easy to prepare!


Ingredients

Scale

1 block extra firm tofu

2 tbsp tomato puree

2 tbsp siracha sauce

2 tbsp fresh mint (finely chopped)

2 tbsp fresh basil (finely chopped)

1/4 cup fresh coriander (finely chopped)

1 shallot (finely chopped)

1 tsp ginger (grated)

1 tbsp lemon juice

zest of one lemon

5 tbsp plain flour (all purpose flour)

1 tsp sea salt


Instructions

 

Press and drain the tofu

Mash the tofu in a large bowl until crumbly.

Mix in the remaining ingredients.

Form into four equal sized patties.

Fry the patties in a little olive oil until brown on both sides.

Transfer to a lined baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees celsius for 20 minutes until firm on the outside.

Serve on toasted buns with siracha sauce and beef tomato slices.
