Ingredients
The star of this perfect tofu burger recipe is extra-firm tofu, which provides essential amino acids and excellent plant-based protein, while holding up to cooking without becoming soggy. Fresh mint, basil, and coriander lend vibrant flavor and a refreshing twist. Tomato puree and sriracha deliver a delicious umami-rich flavor with a smoky, spicy kick. Aromatic shallot, ginger, lemon juice, and zest round out the flavors beautifully, and all-purpose flour helps bind the patties together, ensuring a better texture that crisps perfectly.

FAQs
How do I avoid soggy veggie burgers?
Press and drain your block of extra-firm tofu thoroughly to remove excess water-this important step helps achieve the perfect crispy texture.
Can I freeze these tofu patties?
Absolutely! Place patties in an airtight container or freezer bag after frying and store them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Cook directly from frozen, adding an extra 3-4 minutes to cooking time. Bear in mind the texture of tofu often changes slightly after freezing.
What can I use instead of fresh herbs?
If fresh herbs aren't available, substitute with dried herbs, you will need to experiment with the amount of dried herbs as I haven't tried this myself.
Can I cook these burgers ahead of time?
Yes, prepare and cook patties, then refrigerate. Reheat them briefly in a non-stick skillet or oven until warmed through.
