Ingredients
1 1/2 cup black beans (cooked or from the can)
1 cup greeted carrots
1 cup diced onion
1/4 cup passata or tomato puree
1/2 cup rice flour
3 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray (for frying)
1tsp paprika
1tsp chili flakes
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp cumin
Instructions
1. Start from frying a diced onion on a pan with a little bit olive of oil or cooking spray. Once onion is golden brown add black beans and cook until all the moisture is gone for about 5-6 minutes
2. Add grated carrots, tomato pure and rice flour, gently smash the beans with fork or potato masher and mix everything very well, add dry spices: paprika, chili flakes, cumin, salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes. Leave it to cool.
3. Form ½ inch patties. Depends on the size of your patties you should be able to make 3 or 4 patties.
4. Add remaining olive oil into a heated pan or use cooking spray and fry patties on each side for about 2-3 minutes or until brown.
5. Serve in a bun with a slice of vegan cheese, lettuce, slice of tomato, onion, and your favourite burger sauce.
